J&S - ATV ADVENTURE TOUR ON GRAND TURK, TURKS AND CAICOS

I am confirming you for our ATV tour.   Please arrive 10-15 min early, as our tour anticipates leaving on time. Please let me know if you are each riding your own ATV or will two of you be riding on one?

The ATV Adventure Tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 min.   We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early (if possible, when arriving in port) to select a helmet, choose your ATV and for a brief operation and safety instruction.  Please be sure to have your driver’s license with you.

DIRECTIONS FOR MEETING YOUR GUIDE AT THE MEETING POINT FOR THE TOUR.

KEVIN OR SHELDON, YOUR GUIDES , WILL MEET YOU RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CARNIVAL CRUISE PORT GATE.  CARNIVAL WILL NOT ALLOW US TO GO INSIDE THE PORT GATE TO PICK YOU UP.  Once you disembark from the ship, you walk down the pier, through the duty free shop and then walk toward the entrance/white gazebo taxi stand, where the colorful tour buses are.  If standing under the taxi stand gazebo, with the cruise ship behind you, look across the parking lot, to your left, and you will see a white construction trailer.  Walk to it and then look to your right and you will see a red brick path/walkway that will take you to right outside the cruise port gate, where you will find the Kevin & Sheldon waiting for (Please consider tipping your guides at the tours end).

(When leaving the white gazebo/taxi stand, please be sure you are walking in the direction of the flow of traffic leaving the port, through the port gate, which is left, across the large parking lot, to the red brick walkway.)  It is the only gate to enter and exit from. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from departing from the ship.

From there, you will ride to Front Street, along the sea, where you have available, at our first stop, souvenirs, restrooms and food trucks.  From there, we will be going on the dirt roads, paths and to the Light House and Ridge Trail, with stunning views of the island and sea.  Bring a few extra $ if you want souvenirs or snacks.  We have bottled water for you.  Also, the food truck offers authentic jerk chicken, jerk pork, jerk ribs, rice and peas and soft drinks.

Keep in mind, you will need to wear your sunglasses or our goggles, sunscreen, closed toe shoes are preferable (no soft sole flip flops) and the trail is dusty, so your clothes may get a little dirty.   Please keep in mind, we do not have storage for your personal belongings, other than what you can carry or tie to the ATV.  Many guests choose to wear a personal backpack, for their belongings.  DO NOT leave your cell phone in or on the ATV, and walk away.

Disclosure:   To participate as a driver, you must hold a valid driver’s license (you are required to have it with you), be 21 (we may make a special exception for anyone under 21 who holds a valid drivers license and has a family member on the tour with them, who will be responsible for them), be able to use your thumbs to operate the gas and brake as well as be able to keep up with the group and maintain an approximate speed of  30 mph.  You must keep up with the group and cannot stop on your own, or fall back, from the group, for any reason.  If you are having difficulty operating your ATV, or for any reason, you feel you cannot drive or operate it safely, please tell your guide and he can assist you.  There is no smoking allowed on, or around, the ATVs.  The rules of the road apply to the ATVs, just as they would while driving your car.  You cannot use your cell phone to make calls or take photos, while driving the ATV.  It is not safe.  You will have time for photos at several of your stops.  We take your safety, and the condition of our brand new ATVs very seriously, meaning we want to bring both you, and the equipment, back in the same condition as you started.  Hence, NO STANDING, rough housing (passing, overtaking another rider, skating, fish tailing, sliding, wheelies, lagging behind and speeding up to catch the group, or leaving the group and riding off on your own etc...) with the ATV, will be tolerated. If you are spoken to more than once, regarding this behavior, you will be removed from the ATV.  If your driving/handling of the ATV presents a safety hazard to yourself or other drivers, you may be asked to ride as a passenger.  If you break something, on the ATV, other than standard wear and tear, you will be responsible for paying for a replacement part. Please use your common sense when riding the ATVs.  We all want to have fun on the tour, but it is necessary to be safety conscious.  Thank you for choosing us for your ATV excursion.  We pride ourselves on making your tour one of your most memorable excursions on the island.  If you have further questions about the tour, or the island in general, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Although beautiful, please take note that donkeys and horses, roaming the streets and seen on the side of the road, are wildlife and not domesticated.  Please treat them accordingly, with caution and common sense.  You are advised not to approach or pet them.

Also, see photographs below, along with my previous instructions, to find us more easily from the pier, to the white taxi stand gazebo, to the walking path that leads you to us, to meet Kevin and Sheldon, your tour guides, right outside the port gate.  We suggest you download the photos and directions, to your phone, in case you do not have cell or email service, at the port.  Should you have any questions or difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact me directly by text or phone call at 860–672–5111.
